Chymotrypsin by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: CHYMO IHC
Use
This immunohistochemistry stain detects chymotrypsin in formalin-fixed, paraffin‑embedded tissue sections or cell blocks. It is intended as a technical “stain and return” service—enabling pathologic assessment using ARUP’s immunohistochemistry stain, performed in a CLIA‑certified lab for clinical purposes, with results returned to the submitting laboratory or institution. It has not been cleared or approved by the FDA and is offered as a laboratory‑developed test under CLIA regulations.
Special Instructions
This test is performed as a stain and return (technical) service only. Ordering recommendations refer to ARUP’s Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure. Specimens should be protected from excessive heat. ARUP supply #47808 tissue transport kit is recommended but not required. If sending precut slides, do not oven bake. Transport tissue block or minimum two positively charged unstained slides (3–5 μm) in proper kit. Ship in cooled container during summer months.
Limitations
Specimens with non‑representative tissue type or depleted specimens are unacceptable. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Stability is indefinite at ambient or refrigerated temperatures. This stain has not been FDA cleared or approved, and performance characteristics are validated internally by ARUP.
