D2-40 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: D240 IHC
Use
Immunohistochemical stain utilizing the monoclonal antibody D2-40 (podoplanin) to identify lymphatic endothelial differentiation, commonly applied to evaluate vascular tumors such as lymphangiomas, Kaposi sarcoma, subsets of angiosarcoma, and mesothelial differentiation. Helps distinguish lymphatic origin from blood vascular origin in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue specimens.
Special Instructions
This assay is performed as a stain-and-return (technical-only) service. Submit via electronic request or use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) if electronic ordering not available. Use ARUP tissue transport kit (#47808) for blocks or positively charged slides. If sending precut slides, do not oven bake.
Limitations
Specimens fixed in or processed with non-10% neutral buffered formalin may yield suboptimal results. Unacceptable conditions include non-representative tissue type or depleted specimens. Precut slides should not be oven baked.
