Invitae Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathy Panel
Use
The Invitae Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathy Panel analyzes genes associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathies (HSANs). These conditions are characterized by sensory and autonomic dysfunction in the peripheral nervous system. Identifying the genetic cause can confirm a clinical diagnosis, guide prognosis and treatment strategies, and aid in genetic counseling.
Special Instructions
The test is performed using next-generation sequencing with comprehensive coverage of clinically relevant regions. The analysis includes whole-gene sequencing and deletion/duplication testing.
Limitations
The test may not detect all variants, particularly structural rearrangements or variants in regions with complex architecture. Sensitivity might be reduced for some insertions and deletions. Variants outside the target regions, such as non-coding regions and some exonic regions, might not be evaluated.
