Use
Markedly elevated in patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia;1-5 evaluate hirsutism and/or infertility;6 assess or rule out certain adrenal or ovarian tumors with endocrine activity7
Special Instructions
Include the patient's age on the test request form. If a tube other than a gel-barrier tube is used, transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube. Ensure proper collection and transfer to avoid delays or errors in testing.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp; however, it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. False negatives can occur, and confirmatory testing or additional reflex tests may be required, especially in borderline cases. Stability of the sample and proper storage conditions are essential for accurate results.
