Allergen Profile, Wheat, IgE With Components Reflex
Use
This test supports the diagnosis of wheat allergy by detection of sIgE antibodies to whole wheat extract and individual allergenic components.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Wheat sensitization determined via extract‑based sIgE testing is common, but not always clinically significant; specific sIgE presence alone is not diagnostic without compatible clinical history. Cross‑reactivity with grass pollen and other allergens may confound results. No single allergen definitively establishes molecular allergy diagnosis, and component‑resolved diagnostics should complement clinical history and, if needed, oral food challenge testing.
