Autoimmune Profile
Use
This test serves as a broad screening panel for autoimmune disease by including measurement of anti–double-stranded DNA (anti‑DNA (double‑stranded)) antibodies, antinuclear antibodies (ANA), and complement C3 levels in serum. It aids clinicians in the comprehensive evaluation of autoimmune conditions by combining these autoimmune markers into a single profile.
Special Instructions
Individual tests are performed separately; see individual test descriptions for methodology and reference ranges. Results are typically released within approximately 2 days from specimen pickup, though additional time may be needed for confirmatory or reflex testing.
Limitations
Reference ranges and interpretive criteria vary by each included test (e.g., anti‑DNA, ANA, complement C3), thus their limitations and diagnostic specificity should be considered on an individual-test basis. Turnaround may be delayed if confirmatory or reflex tests are required.
