Cyclic AMP, Plasma
Also known as: cAMP, Plasma
Use
Determination of cAMP is useful in the clinical assessment of parathyroid function.
Special Instructions
To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Limitations
cAMP levels can be influenced by the presence of radioactive isotopes if administered within 48 hours prior to venipuncture. Samples might also be unsuitable if heavily hemolyzed, lipemic, or if non-EDTA plasma is received. Non-frozen specimens will be rejected, impacting the analysis results.
