ACTH, Roche Elecsys
Use
ACTH determinations are valuable in the differential diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency and hypersecretion.
Special Instructions
This test is being offered for those clients who have a preference for the Roche Elecsys method over the Siemens Immulite and who are looking to confirm elevated ACTH results obtained by the Siemens Immulite.
Limitations
ACTH measurement is not recommended for patients who have been administered cosyntropin [ACTH (1-24)] because the results may be falsely elevated or depressed.
