Drug-Induced Liver Injury Pattern Assessment with Calculation of R Value
Also known as: Drug, Herbal, and Dietary Supplements Induced Liver Injury
Use
This test is used for initial laboratory assessment of drug, herbal and dietary supplement-induced liver injury.
Special Instructions
Separate serum or plasma from cells within 45 minutes of collection. Maintain specimen at room temperature.
Limitations
Grossly hemolyzed samples can generate spurious results, while increased ALT levels are observed in obesity, potentially affecting the interpretation. For optimal results, specimens should not be frozen as oxalate, EDTA, or citrate plasma can interfere with the assessment. Proper labeling and handling are crucial to avoid rejection or erroneous results.
