Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), Quantitative PCR
Also known as: EBV Viral Load, Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), Quantitative, DNA by Real-time PCR
Use
This assay is intended to be used for the quantitative detection of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA and as an aid in the diagnosis and management of EBV infections. This assay is traceable to the 1st WHO International Standard for Epstein Barr Virus for Nucleic Acid Amplification Techniques (NAT)-based assays.
Special Instructions
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time may be required for confirmatory or reflex tests. Submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested to avoid turnaround delays.
Limitations
The quantitative range of this assay is between 35.0 IU/mL and 100,000,000 IU/mL. The analytical sensitivity is 18.8 IU/mL.
