Haemophilus influenzae B, IgG
Also known as: Haemophilus influenzae B Profile, IgG, HIB
Use
This assay is for the in vitro measurement of specific IgG antibodies against Haemophilus influenzae.
Special Instructions
The test requires serum collection. It's important to follow standard serum collection and storage procedures to ensure the accuracy of the results. Specimens should be handled and transported following the recommended stability guidelines to avoid degradation.
Limitations
This assay measures IgG antibodies specific to Haemophilus influenzae type B and does not measure other antibody classes such as IgA or IgM. Cross-reactivity with other types of Haemophilus influenzae or other bacteria is not expected. However, the test results should be interpreted in conjunction with the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests. Variability in immune response among individuals may affect interpretation. False negatives may occur if tested too soon after exposure or vaccination.
