Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Quantitative, DNA (Abbott® RealTime)
Use
Determine the number of international units (IU) of hepatitis B virus DNA per milliliter of serum or plasma in known HBV-positive patients.
Special Instructions
To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate specimens for each test requested. Ensure proper handling by following collection and storage instructions rigorously to maintain sample integrity.
Limitations
Assay range is 10 IU/mL to 1,000,000,000 IU/mL, and it may not be accurate outside this range. The presence of particular substances or improper handling of samples, such as hemolysis or inappropriate container use, can lead to inaccurate results or rejection of the specimen.
