Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), Quantitative, RNA PCR (Nongraphical) With Reflex to Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) GenoSure® NS3/4A
Also known as: HCV Real-time PCR With Reflex to HCV GenoSure® NS3/4A, HCV RNA Quantitation With Reflex to HCV GenoSure® NS3/4A
Use
Quantification of HCV with reflex to HCV GenoSure NS3/4A drug resistance (at additional charge) if ≥2000 IU/mL. Detects Q80K polymorphism.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The quantitative range for this HCV real-time PCR assay is 15 IU/mL to 100,000,000 IU/mL. Accurate results cannot be guaranteed outside this range. The test requires the presence of HCV genotype either 1a or 1b for accurate processing and subsequent reflex testing to HCV GenoSure® NS3/4A. Specimens not meeting the volume requirements or improperly processed (e.g., not centrifuged within six hours, non-frozen specimens) may lead to test rejection.
Methodology
PCR-based (RT-PCR)
