Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 (HIV-1) GenoSure Archive®
Also known as: Cell-associated Viral DNA, HIV-1 Genotype, Resistance Analysis
Use
Detect resistance of HIV-1 to protease, reverse transcriptase, and integrase inhibitors in cell-associated viral DNA.
Special Instructions
This test was developed by Labcorp and its performance characteristics determined by the laboratory. It has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. Patients should be aware that the results are intended to guide the choice of antiretroviral therapy and should not be the sole criterion for therapeutic decisions.
Limitations
The procedure is recommended specifically for patients with documented HIV-1 infection, showing either undetectable viral load or low level viremia. It is crucial to advise patients that while the assay meets CLIA standards for performance characteristics, it must not be used as the exclusive basis for patient management. The results should be considered as part of a comprehensive treatment strategy.
