Use
This test is a transplant physician's means of obtaining and monitoring information about immune status. ImmuKnow® measures the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) response of stimulated peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Special Instructions
Prior to initial submission of specimens for this test, contact HLA customer service (800-533-1037) to establish special specimen collection and transportation arrangements. These specimen collection and transportation arrangements must be observed in order to obtain acceptable results.
Limitations
The assay must be set up within 30 hours of specimen collection; specimens received after 30 hours are not acceptable for testing. Specimens cannot be chilled, refrigerated, or frozen and must be maintained at room temperature. Further, results of the ImmuKnow® test should be used in conjunction with clinical presentation, medical history, and other clinical indicators to accurately establish the immune status of a patient.

Collection Instructions
Do not use lithium heparin, ACD, or EDTA tubes. Assay must be set up within 30 hours of specimen collection. Specimens received after 30 hours are not acceptable for testing.
Storage Instructions
Maintain specimen at room temperature (ie, 18°C to 28°C) only. Specimen stable 30 hours; >30 hours specimen not viable. Do not refrigerate or freeze specimen.
