Japanese Cedar
Also known as: Cedar, Japanese
Use
This test is designed to identify specific IgE antibodies to Japanese Cedar allergens in the serum. A positive result indicates sensitization to Japanese Cedar, which may be associated with allergic symptoms when exposed to this allergen. This test aids in the diagnosis of allergic conditions such as rhinitis and asthma related to exposure to Japanese Cedar pollen.
Special Instructions
Testing is performed using the Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® methodology, which is known for its reliable and accurate detection of allergen-specific IgE antibodies. Specimen collection must be handled with care to maintain sample integrity.
Limitations
This test determines the presence of IgE antibodies specific to Japanese Cedar but does not quantify their clinical relevance conclusively. False positives may occur, and results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings. Cross-reactivity with other related allergens may occur, affecting specificity.
