Monitor exposure to lead or lead chelation therapy
Special Instructions
A request form must state total volume collected in 24 hours, if applicable. Do not use preservatives, as they may interfere with metal testing. Separate urine specimens are required for urinalysis and metal testing if both are ordered.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Factors such as gastrointestinal disturbance, anemia, and chronic exposure may influence test results. Environmental and occupational exposure limits are noted for reference.

Collection Instructions
Sampling time is not critical for industrial exposure monitoring. If a 24-hour collection, instruct the patient to collect all urine including the final specimen voided at the end of the 24-hour period. Collect without preservatives.
