Menopausal Transition Profile I−Postmenopausal (Endocrine Sciences)
Use
The Menopausal Transition Profile I−Postmenopausal test is designed to evaluate hormonal levels essential for diagnosing and managing conditions associated with menopause and postmenopausal stages. It assesses key reproductive hormones, aiding in determining endocrine function and guiding therapeutic decisions for managing menopausal symptoms.
Special Instructions
This test includes estradiol, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and progesterone assessments. Serum must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture and submitted in a plastic transport tube. For multiple frozen tests, submit separate specimens to avoid delays in turnaround time.
Limitations
Testing schedules may vary and additional time may be required for confirmatory or reflex testing. The minimum specimen volume does not allow for repeat analysis. Stability is limited to one hour at room temperature, two days refrigerated, and 200 days frozen. Unlabeled or unstable specimens may be rejected.
