Trichomonas vaginalis, NAA
Use
Diagnosis of Trichomonas vaginalis infection
Special Instructions
For proper specimen collection, patient self-collection and care provider collection instructions must be followed to ensure sample integrity and accurate results. Special care should be taken not to contaminate the specimen and to use appropriate transport devices.
Limitations
The accuracy of the test results is dependent on the proper collection and handling of the specimen. Samples that are not correctly collected or transported may yield false-negative results. Inappropriate specimen transport conditions, use of expired or incorrect transport devices, and specimen contamination can affect test sensitivity. Additionally, the presence of fixatives or additives in the specimen could lead to rejection.
