Use
This test is used to determine the susceptibility of yeast isolates to antifungal agents.
Special Instructions
Maintain the yeast isolate on solid medium, tightly sealed, in etiologic agent packaging at room temperature. Ensure the isolate is viable and correctly labeled to prevent rejection.
Limitations
Susceptibilities cannot be reported if the organism fails to grow in the test medium. It cannot be performed on mixed cultures or non-yeast isolates such as bacteria or mold. The test has not been cleared or approved by the FDA, requiring caution in interpretation and application of results.
