Yeast Susceptibility Testing, Itraconazole
Also known as: Antifungal Susceptibility Testing, Fungal Susceptibility Testing
Use
This test is used to determine the susceptibility of yeast isolates to antifungal agents.
Special Instructions
It is essential to submit a pure culture yeast isolate on solid medium, tightly sealed, in an etiologic agent packaging for testing. Turnaround time may vary due to additional confirmatory or reflex tests.
Limitations
Susceptibilities cannot be reported if the organism fails to grow in the test medium, and susceptibilities cannot be performed on mixed cultures. The test's performance characteristics were determined by Labcorp, but it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA.
