This assay evaluates the functional integrity of the alternative complement pathway, useful for screening suspected deficiencies in alternative pathway components (such as C3, factor B, factor D, properdin, factor H, factor I), and in contexts including atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, C3 glomerulopathy, dense‑deposit disease, and other complement-mediated disorders.
