B‑cell Receptor IGK Gene Rearrangement, PCR
Also known as: Kappa Light Chain, Heavy Chain Gene Rearrangement, Immunoglobulin Light Chain, Immunoglobulin Kappa Gene Rearrangement, B-Cell Clonality
Use
This assay detects clonal B‑cell receptor immunoglobulin kappa (IGK) light chain gene rearrangements by PCR. It is useful for determining clonality in B‑cell lymphoproliferative disorders, especially when prior IGH rearrangement results are inconclusive or inconsistent morphologically or clinically, such as in lymphoblastic leukemia or lymphoma. It includes pathologist’s integrated interpretation. ([questdiagnostics.com](https://www.questdiagnostics.com/healthcare-professionals/clinical-education-center/faq/faq124?utm_source=openai))
Special Instructions
Should be ordered as a stand‑alone test if IGH result is inconclusive or inconsistent morphologically or clinically. It may be used in lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma and complements IGH testing.
