Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, IgVH Mutation Status
Also known as: Immunoglobulin VH Gene Mutation, IgVH Mutation Analysis, CLL, IgVH Mutation Status, Cell-based
Use
B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‑CLL) shows highly variable clinical behavior. IGVH (immunoglobulin heavy‑chain variable region) mutation status divides patients into two prognostically distinct groups. Patients whose IGVH genes are mutated (≥2% deviation from germline, <98% homology) generally have longer survival and may require less intensive therapy; those with unmutated IGVH display more aggressive disease courses and shorter survival. This test assesses IGVH mutation status to aid in risk stratification and management decisions.
