Glucose Tolerance Test, Gestational, 4 Specimens (100 g)
Use
This test measures plasma glucose levels in fasting and at 1, 2, and 3 hours after ingestion of a 100 g oral glucose load, used for diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus by detecting hyperglycemia, per National Diabetes Data Group (NDDG) or ACOG guidelines.
Special Instructions
Fasting is required (no food or beverage except water for at least 8 hours before testing). Obtain fasting specimen, have patient consume 100 g glucose solution within approximately 5 minutes, then collect specimens at 1-, 2-, and 3-hour intervals; label each with draw time.
