Use

The activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) is a coagulation assay used to evaluate the intrinsic and common pathways of the coagulation cascade, aiding in the assessment of coagulation disorders (e.g., hemophilia A/B, von Willebrand disease, lupus anticoagulant) and monitoring anticoagulant therapy with heparin. It helps detect deficiencies in clotting factors such as I, II, V, VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII, as well as presence of inhibitors or liver dysfunction.
