Post‑Transplant, BK Virus DNA, Real‑Time PCR, Plasma
Also known as: Polyomavirus, PTxplnt, Specialized, Txplnt, Services
Use
This test detects BK Virus DNA quantitatively via real‑time PCR in plasma specimens of post‑transplant patients. Monitoring BK virus DNA is essential in kidney transplant recipients to manage and mitigate the risk of BK virus–associated nephropathy (BKVAN) and potential graft dysfunction or failure. It serves as a critical surveillance tool in immunocompromised individuals following transplantation.
