Synaptophysin, IHC with Interpretation
Use
Synaptophysin is a calcium-binding glycoprotein present in presynaptic vesicles of neurons and neuroendocrine cells. It serves as a broad-spectrum neuroendocrine marker and aids in diagnosing tumors with neuroendocrine differentiation. Interpretation by a qualified pathologist in clinical context is essential.
Special Instructions
Interpretive report is provided. A pathology report is typically required. Slides or blocks must be handled according to IHC specimen requirements (e.g., FFPE tissue).
Limitations
Interpretation should be performed in conjunction with morphological evaluation and clinical history. Inadequate tissue or poor slide quality may compromise results.
