Allergen, Food, Mushroom
Also known as: MUSHROOM
Use
The Allergen, Food, Mushroom test is designed to detect specific IgE antibodies to mushroom allergens, assisting in the diagnosis of allergic reactions to various mushroom species. This test is particularly useful for identifying sensitivities in patients with suspected allergic reactions to mushrooms, aiding in the development of an appropriate management plan. It is essential for correlating laboratory results with clinical history and in-vivo reactivity to specific allergens.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The presence of allergen-specific IgE concentrations may not correlate directly with the degree of clinical allergy or outcomes of skin testing when challenged with the allergen. A negative test result may not completely rule out the existence of a clinical allergy or even anaphylaxis. Results in the range of 0.10-0.34 kU/L have undetermined clinical relevance and should be interpreted by specialists.
