Use

CD15 immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a staining technique used to detect CD15 antigen expression in tissue sections. This method is commonly utilized in the diagnosis and classification of certain types of hematological malignancies, such as Hodgkin's lymphoma and other neoplasms, where the presence of CD15 can be indicative of specific subtypes. The test provides important diagnostic and prognostic information that aids in the determination of the most appropriate treatment plans for patients.

Special Instructions

IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY ORDERING AND SUBMISSION DETAILS: Submit electronic request. If you do not have electronic ordering capability, use an ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) with an ARUP client number. Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed specimen. Protect paraffin block and/or slides from excessive heat. If sending precut slides, do not oven bake. Limitations

This test is performed as a stain and return (technical) service only. It does not include interpretation of results. The results should be interpreted by a qualified pathologist, taking into consideration the complete clinical context and additional findings. Depleted specimens and specimens submitted with non-representative tissue type are not accepted, which may limit testing if suitable material is unavailable.
