This panel provides an initial broad assessment of lipid status, including total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol (calculated), and cholesterol/HDL ratio to evaluate hyperlipidemia and associated cardiovascular disease risk. If triglyceride levels exceed 400 mg/dL, a direct LDL cholesterol measurement is automatically performed, rather than calculated, improving accuracy in hypertriglyceridemic samples.
