Allergen, Food, Banana IgG
Also known as: BANANA IGG
Use
The Allergen, Food, Banana IgG test is utilized to assess the presence of allergen-specific IgG antibodies in patients suspected to have sensitivities or allergic reactions to bananas. It assists clinicians in evaluating allergenic responses and guiding dietary management strategies to mitigate IgG-mediated food allergies.
Special Instructions
Ensure to review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to maintain sample integrity. Relevant procedural instructions are available at www.aruplab.com/testing/resources/specimen. Exact measurement units are interchangeable between mcg/mL and mgA/L; 1 mg/L is equivalent to 1000 mcg/1000 mL.
Limitations
This test is a Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) and has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. It is designed for clinical purposes and performed in a CLIA certified laboratory. Values less than 2.00 mcg/mL indicate absent or undetectable levels of allergen-specific IgG antibody. Limitations include potential for cross-reactivity with other allergens and not being suitable for use in New York state.
