Allergen, House Dust Stier
Also known as: HOUSESTIER
Use
The Allergen, House Dust Stier test is used to detect and quantify allergen-specific IgE in the patient's serum. It helps determine potential allergic reactions to house dust mites. This test measures allergen-specific IgE levels and aids specialists in assessing the likelihood of an IgE-mediated clinical reaction. The clinical relevance of low levels in the range of 0.10-0.34 kU/L is undetermined and requires correlation with clinical history and in vivo reactivity.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
This test detects and quantifies allergen-specific IgE to house dust mites but does not correlate directly with the degree of clinical response or skin testing results when the patient is challenged with a specific allergen. A negative result does not rule out the possibility of a clinical allergy or even anaphylaxis. Cross-reaction with other allergens or proteins is possible, and test results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings and patient history.
