Allergen, Region 10 Respiratory Panel IgE, Southwestern Grasslands (OK, TX)
Also known as: REG10PANEL
Use
This test is used for allergen testing for patients in the southwestern grasslands region, specifically Oklahoma and Texas. It helps in identifying specific allergens that may pose a risk to individuals living or exposed in these areas, enabling targeted allergy management. The results of allergen-specific IgE measurements may not correlate with the clinical response or skin test results during allergen exposure challenges.
Special Instructions
It is recommended that multiple patient encounters be avoided for accurate testing. The test includes a comprehensive panel of allergens specific to the southwestern grasslands region, such as various grasses, trees, weeds, fungi/mold, mites, and animal dander. Collect specimen in a Serum Separator Tube (SST) and transfer to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube for optimal testing.
Limitations
Results of 0.10-0.34 kU/L have undetermined clinical relevance and should be interpreted by a specialist. The test results may not correlate with the degree of clinical response or skin testing when challenged with a specific allergen. Negative test results do not rule out clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. It is crucial to correlate test results with clinical history and in vivo reactivity.
