Allergen, Region 5 Respiratory Panel IgE, Ohio Valley (IN, OH, TN, WV, KY)
Also known as: REG5PANEL
Use
This test is used for allergen testing among patients from the Ohio valley region, including Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky. It measures specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies to identify allergens responsible for allergic reactions. The test is significant in diagnosing allergies and guiding clinical management, by assessing sensitization to a panel of regional respiratory allergens.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Allergen results in the range of 0.10-0.34 kU/L are intended strictly for specialist use as the clinical relevance is undetermined. Even higher concentrations of allergen-specific IgE may not correlate directly with the severity of clinical responses or skin test results. There is a need for correlation between laboratory allergy results and clinical history with specific allergen exposures. A negative test result cannot rule out the possibility of clinical allergy or anaphylaxis.
