Allergen, Tree, Hackberry IgE
Also known as: HACKBERRY
Use
This test measures allergen-specific IgE to Hackberry. It is used to evaluate individuals suspected of having allergic reactions to Hackberry pollen. Concentrations above certain thresholds suggest sensitization and the potential for allergic reactions, but must be correlated with clinical history and other diagnostic methods such as skin testing. Allergen-specific IgE levels indicate sensitization but may not directly correlate with symptom severity in vivo.
Special Instructions
For multiple allergen orders, refer to 'Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions' available at ARUP's website. Ensure serum is separated from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours post-collection to maintain sample integrity.
Limitations
While this test quantifies allergen-specific IgE, it is not FDA cleared or approved, hence not intended to diagnose or treat allergies. It does not predict clinical allergy or the severity of an allergic reaction definitively. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with patient history and other clinical findings. Occasional false negatives or positives may occur.
