Allergen, Tree, Poplar White IgE
Also known as: POPLAR W
Use
The Allergen, Tree, Poplar White IgE test measures the level of IgE antibodies specific to the Poplar White (Populus alba) allergen. It is used to aid in the diagnosis of allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis or asthma triggered by exposure to this specific pollen. Elevated IgE levels indicate sensitization to this allergen and can guide clinical decision-making and management of allergic patients.
Special Instructions
The test is not performed at ARUP Laboratories; separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. It is important to review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to ensure adequate volume for allergen testing.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Eurofins Viracor and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Results should be interpreted in the context of a full clinical evaluation, and false positives/negatives may occur due to cross-reactivity with other allergens or variations in the individual's immune response.
