White Pine (t16) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This assay measures the level of specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in serum directed against allergens from white pine tree pollen. Elevated IgE levels indicate sensitization to white pine pollen and may support the evaluation of allergic rhinitis, asthma, or other allergic respiratory manifestations in affected patients.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Specific IgE antibody levels may not correlate directly with clinical symptom severity and must be interpreted within the context of patient history and presentation. Results below 0.10 kU/L do not rule out the possibility of an allergic response, as they reflect sensitization rather than clinical reactivity. Interpret cautiously between 0.10 and 0.35 kU/L, and consider additional evaluation if clinically indicated.
