Amphetamines Urine Screen with Reflex to Quantitation
Also known as: AMP RFX U
Use
This test is useful for general screening in contexts such as compliance and abuse. It is designed to detect amphetamine exposure through a urine sample. A screen with reflex testing is the preferred method for ruling out amphetamine exposure due to its ability to provide both qualitative and quantitative results. For follow-up testing of a presumptive result, it is recommended to use the Amphetamines, Urine, Quantitative test (2010075).
Special Instructions
If the specimen screens positive, then Confirmation/Quantitation by LC-MS/MS will be added to confirm result, which may incur additional charges. The test is not intended for forensic use and should be used for medical purposes only. The concentration at which the screening test can detect a drug or metabolite varies within a drug class.
Limitations
Presumptive negative results for drugs and/or drug metabolites may indicate non-compliance, inappropriate timing of specimen collection relative to drug administration, poor drug absorption, diluted/adulterated urine, or limitations of testing. The concentration at which the screening test can detect a drug or metabolite may vary within a drug class, which is a limitation of testing. The test has not been cleared or approved by the US FDA and is only intended for clinical purposes.
