Drug Panel 7A, Urine - Screen with Reflex to Confirmation/Quantitation
Also known as: CDASU 7A
Use
This test is useful for general screening in contexts of compliance and/or abuse. A screen with reflex testing is the preferred method for ruling out drug exposure. It detects a range of drugs including THC (Cannabinoids), Cocaine, Opiates, Oxycodone, Phencyclidine, Amphetamines, MDMA (Ecstasy), Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, and Alcohol. This test does not distinguish between the delta-8 and delta-9 forms of THC or their metabolites. The test is intended for medical purposes only and is not valid for forensic use.
Special Instructions
If the specimen screens positive, then confirmation/quantitation by GC/MS, GC/FID, and/or LC-MS/MS will be added to confirm the result, which incurs additional charges. Proper specimen collection involves transferring 8 mL urine with no additives or preservatives to ARUP Standard Transport Tubes, with a minimum of 4 mL required. The test requires refrigeration for storage or transport.
Limitations
The test may produce presumptive negative results for drugs or drug metabolites, which could indicate non-compliance, inappropriate timing of specimen collection relative to drug administration, poor drug absorption, diluted or adulterated urine, or limitations of the testing itself. The concentration at which the screening test can detect a drug or metabolite varies within each drug class. Results flagged as positive do not necessarily indicate an abnormal result.
