E Antigen Typing - Patient
Also known as: E AG
Use
The E Antigen Typing - Patient test is used to determine if the E (RH3) antigen is expressed on the patient's red blood cells. Identifying the expression of the E antigen is important in blood transfusion compatibility and diagnosing Rh blood group variants. If the patient is to be further assessed for heterozygosity or homozygosity of the E antigen, it is recommended to also order the Little e Antigen Typing - Patient (2007943).
