Use
Aid in diagnosis and classification of hematopoietic neoplasms presenting with prominent eosinophilia. Does not detect rearrangements associated with chronic myelogenous leukemia.
Special Instructions
This test must be ordered using Oncology test request form #43099 or through your ARUP interface. A processing fee will be charged if this procedure is canceled after setup or if specimen integrity is inadequate. If chromosome analysis is not performed at ARUP on the same sample, the Bone Marrow/PBL Culture Processing Fee (0093271) will be added. Other specimen types may be acceptable—contact Cytogenetics Laboratory for instructions.
Limitations
Does not detect rearrangements associated with chronic myelogenous leukemia. Use of inappropriate specimen (e.g., paraffin-embedded or clotted specimens) may compromise processing.
