Factor XIIIa by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: FAC 13 IHC
Use
This is a technical (stain and return) immunohistochemistry (IHC) service for detecting Factor XIIIa antigen in tissue or cell specimens. It is used to characterize or classify cellular morphology by identifying the presence of Factor XIIIa protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin‑embedded tissue or cell preparations, supporting histopathologic interpretation in diagnostic settings.
Special Instructions
Specimens must be formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded, or prepared into a cell block; tissue block or minimum 2 positively charged unstained slides (3–5 µm) may be sent in ARUP transport kit #47808. Submit electronic order or use ARUP IHC Stain Form (#32978) if e‑ordering is unavailable. Protect specimens from excessive heat; do not oven‑bake precut slides.
Limitations
Unacceptable conditions include non‑representative tissue types or depleted specimens. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. There is no stability guarantee under frozen conditions. This test is strictly a technical stain service and does not include interpretation beyond stain performance.
