Methadone, Urine Screen with Reflex to Quantitation
Also known as: METH RFX U
Use
This test is useful for general screening in contexts of compliance and/or abuse. The screen with reflex testing is the preferred method for ruling out methadone exposure. In the event of a presumptive result, additional follow-up testing with Methadone and Metabolite, Urine, Quantitative (0090362) is recommended to confirm results.
Special Instructions
If the specimen screens positive, LC-MS/MS confirmation/quantitation (ARUP test code 0090362) will be added automatically, leading to additional charges. This test should not be used for forensic purposes.
Limitations
Presumptive negative results may indicate non-compliance, inappropriate timing of specimen collection, poor drug absorption, diluted/adulterated urine, or limitations of testing. This test is intended for medical purposes only and not validated for forensic use. The concentration at which the screening test can detect a drug or metabolite varies within a drug class.
