Pax-5 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: PAX5 IHC
Use
This test provides immunohistochemical detection of PAX5, a B‑cell lineage‑specific transcription factor (also known as B‑cell–specific activator protein, BSAP), used to aid in classification of B‑cell lymphomas via technical stain; results are intended for interpretation within clinical context by a pathologist. This is offered as a stain‑and‑return technical service only.
Special Instructions
Submit electronic request or use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) with an ARUP client number if electronic ordering is unavailable. Refer to the ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure. Use tissue block or at least two positively charged unstained slides (3‑5 µm) in ARUP tissue transport kit #47808. Do not oven bake precut slides.
Limitations
Specimens with non‑representative tissue types or depleted specimens are unacceptable. Slides must be protected from excessive heat. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Interpretation depends on adequacy of tissue and proper fixation; test does not provide interpretive reporting—only technical staining.
