Use
The Invitae Hereditary Neuroendocrine Tumors and Adrenocortical Carcinoma Panel analyzes genes associated with predispositions to neuroendocrine tumors and adrenocortical carcinoma. Given the genetic heterogeneity and clinical overlap of conditions, this test helps confirm clinical diagnoses, predict disease prognosis, facilitate early detection, and inform family planning and genetic counseling.
Special Instructions
This test is specifically designed for heritable germline mutations and is not appropriate for the detection of somatic mutations in tumor tissue.
Limitations
This assay may not detect structural rearrangements, gene conversion events, translocations, or variants in complex sequence architectures. Sequence variations in promoter, non-coding exons, and non-covered regions are also excluded.
