Goose Feathers
Use
The Goose Feathers test measures specific IgE antibodies using Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® technology to identify allergic reactions due to exposure to goose feathers. The test helps in diagnosing and managing allergy symptoms by providing quantitative results that interpret the level of sensitivity, which ranges from negative to very high. This is critical for patients who experience allergic symptoms such as respiratory issues, skin irritations, or other allergic responses when exposed to goose feather products.
Special Instructions
This test uses the Thermo Fisher ImmunoCAP® system. Ensure proper collection and handling of the serum specimen to maintain sample integrity. Results should be correlated with clinical history and other diagnostic findings.
Limitations
The test results are dependent on the proper handling and storage of the serum samples. False positives or negatives may occur if samples are not handled correctly. The measurement of specific IgE does not always correlate with clinical symptoms, and other allergy tests may be necessary for a comprehensive diagnosis. Cross-reactivity with other allergens may also occur.
