Strontium, Serum or Plasma
Use
Evaluate exposure to strontium
Special Instructions
Serum or plasma should be separated from cells within two hours of venipuncture. After separation, the serum or plasma should be transferred to a metal-free transport tube for submission. It is crucial to ensure that no non-metal-free collection tubes are used to avoid contamination.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The results should be interpreted in the context of the clinical picture and potential environmental or dietary strontium exposure. Variations in results may occur due to differing levels of exposure or specimen handling. It is important to note that results outside the reference range warrant further clinical correlation and evaluation.
