Special Instructions
This test may exhibit interference when the sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (vitamin B7, B8, H, or coenzyme R). Patients should be cautioned to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to sample collection to prevent inaccurate results.
Limitations
The test may be subject to interference from biotin supplements if not discontinued prior to sample collection. The assay's performance may be affected by other factors such as hemolysis, lipemia, and improper sample handling or storage conditions beyond the acceptable stability periods.
