TP53 Oncology FISH
Also known as: FISH, Leukemia FISH, Lymphoma FISH
Use
Confirmation/identification of leukemia/lymphoma-related alterations; leukemia/lymphoma monitoring of residual disease, transplants, and indolent clones (see list or call lab for probe availability)
Special Instructions
Include pertinent clinical diagnosis and previous cytogenetic studies on the test request form. Utilize sterile technique and Labcorp transport kits when possible for specimen collection. Transport to the testing laboratory at room temperature, and use a cool pack or Labcorp transport kit for stability. Do not allow samples to overheat or freeze.
Limitations
The test does not detect molecular mutations or chromosomal alterations not targeted by the probe included in the profile. Therefore, testing is limited to the alterations specifically identified by the available probes. Additional confirmatory tests may be required depending on the clinical scenario and the results obtained from the FISH analysis.
